Interview with Léa Hennequart, Account Manager

Can you introduce yourself?

My name is Léa and I'm an account manager at Modjo.

I live between Lille and Paris and I'm always up for a chat over a drink about the time difference, a favorite topic with my Parisian friends!

Why did you decide to join Modjo?

My first motivation was work. It has lived up to my expectations perfectly. The tasks are varied. Thanks to this job, I'm always in direct contact with our customers (Swile, Spendesk, Doctolib, BackMarket, etc.) but also with the Modjo teams.

I became really interested in the product and the company's vision, which I totally embraced.

Finally, there's the team, who are always on top form.

What's it like to get in touch with the best salespeople at Hays, Prestashop, Yousign, PayFit, etc.? ?

It's very rewarding and enjoyable! They're approachable, friendly and always eager to improve!

You have a real impact on the customer and see how your product transforms the way they work.

Every customer is unique in terms of market, sales structure and objectives. My contacts are varied (sales or CS managers, Sales Ops, team leaders, etc.), so no two days are alike!

What was your background before joining the adventure?

My first experience was as an export sales assistant with Petit Bateau. Then I gained experience as a field sales assistant in the consulting field, which helped me to know exactly what I wanted.

I realized that what I liked most was the contact with the customer.

Accompanying a customer, working hand in hand with them to bring their project to a successful conclusion and seeing our solution evolve on their premises, that's what really motivates me.

Eventually, I found a job that combines the two: I try to get people to adopt our product while maintaining a commercial dimension.

How do you become a Modjo account manager?

There is no standard itinerary.

Initial experience in direct customer contact (sales, CS, etc.) is a plus. But the most important skill is the...

It's personal: you need a lot of soft skills.

It's very difficult to succeed in mastery if you're not empathetic, friendly and a good listener. You also need to be able to adapt to the people you're dealing with.

These are the many skills we're looking for in our future AM recruits. Experience is an asset, but if you have a cool head, are willing to learn and love a product, you can work well together.

What's the difference between AM and CS?

What a debate!

Today, the Success business is evolving rapidly. Generally speaking, I would say that :

A Customer Success is in charge of adoption, product use (in a SaaS box) and customer service. The aim is to deliver a seamless experience with 100% customer satisfaction.

An AM has a commercial vocation (up-selling or cross-selling).

In Modjo, AM wears both hats.

The skill you use every day?

Empathy.

How do you get started in sales?

Niaque and desire.

If you have the ability to speak and the desire to convince others, you'll succeed.

Your greatest victory?

When my customers are satisfied. What motivates me is customer satisfaction. Nothing is more important in a business like ours.

I'm always proactive and organize regular follow-ups with them to talk to them and take their temperature. This enables me to identify those who are doing well and those who need extra help.

What would you say to a potential candidate to convince them to apply?

It's important not to miss the boat.

If you'd like to join a start-up with a promising future, where things are constantly evolving and where you can develop in a good atmosphere, don't hesitate!

Do you have any special memories of Modjo that you'd like to share?

There are so many that it's hard to choose.

I'd say that the last off-site visit is a very nice memory, we shared moments together.

When I arrived in January 2021, there were 6 of us, today there are 22. The spirit has remained the same, we're just more numerous to enjoy it.

How do you motivate yourself in the morning?

Walk to work (after the train, of course!) with good music in your ears and the day is off.

A funny anecdote about you?

I'm still a bit of a headache and quite clumsy.
Don't ask me to bring back a pile of plates, unless you want to get rid of them!
