Meeting with Mohamed Benzaoui, Full Stack developer
Can you introduce yourself?
My name is Mohamed, I'm 25 years old. I've been a full stack developer for 2 years. I love discovering new dishes and mountain biking.
Why did you decide to join Modjo?
Having previously worked for a large company, I wanted to join an ambitious start-up developing its own product with new technical challenges. Modjo fit all these criteria perfectly. I was immediately impressed by the product!
What's day-to-day work like at Modjo?
It's intense in the best sense of the word! I learn new things every day. It's a real pleasure to work with caring and attentive colleagues: it makes the job easier.
What is a Full Stack developer?
The developer, or dev' for short, is responsible for implementing a system or application: website, software, mobile application, etc. He or she translates a business need into lines of code. They translate a business need into lines of code. They translate a business need into lines of code.
At Modjo, all our developers are full-stack, which means we work on both the visible part (our web application and our note-taking desktop application) and the invisible part, namely the API and DevOps.
The developer works closely with the product team. Developing is not just about publishing lines of code, it's about thinking about a problem and then responding to it by designing a technical solution.
You need to ensure that your code is reliable, that it follows best practices and, above all, that it is tested to deliver the best user experience for your customers.
What would you say to a candidate to convince him or her to join Modjo?
Apply now! You won't regret it! If you don't apply, you could be missing out on a great adventure with an enthusiastic and ambitious team constantly striving to outdo itself.
The challenges are many, and we invite you to help us overcome them.
How do you become a Dev'?
There are many ways to become a developer.
The most traditional route is to attend a computer science school or take a computer science course at university. There, you'll learn all the technical basics you need to become a developer.
But to be a really good developer, you need to have a lot of curiosity, a good capacity for abstraction and simply love what you do.
It's becoming increasingly common for people to change jobs to become IT specialists.
To achieve this, online or classroom training can be taken, but a lot of effort is needed in parallel and, just like being a good developer, the same qualities are required.
Your best Modjo memory?
The first fund-raising and the subsequent move to the new offices are definitely (very) fond memories.
I'm convinced that every day spent with Modjo helps to fill my memory book. Every now and then, I look in the rear-view mirror and see how Modjo is growing like crazy! There's no end in sight.
We recently held a seminar. I had a great time!
Your greatest victory?
My victories are almost daily: it's every feature film that goes into production! As a developer, it's a great source of pride to see a product we've created (and sometimes with the help of StackOverflow) satisfy our customers.
I'll get back to work on my next victory:)
